What support can include
Support looks different for everyone. We’ll work with you to find what feels right for you.
Harm Reduction
We know not everyone is ready or able to stop using drugs or alcohol straight away. Harm reduction support is about helping people stay safer, reduce risks and access practical advice without judgement.
What we offer:
- Needle and syringe exchange
- Naloxone training and free kits (to reverse opioid overdoses)
- Safer use advice and practical tips
- Health checks and brief interventions
- You can return used equipment safely

Specialist Support
Some people may need additional support alongside drug or alcohol treatment. We work closely with specialist and partner services across Blackpool to help people access the right support.

Support for people experiencing mental health challenges alongside drug or alcohol use.
Housing and homelessness support
Help accessing housing support, homelessness services and wider practical support.
Detox and treatment pathways
Support accessing detox services, medical pathways and structured treatment where appropriate.
Health and wellbeing support
Joined-up support around physical health, wellbeing and wider recovery needs.
Support around probation or the justice system
Support for people involved with probation, courts or other criminal justice services.
Support for young adults and transitions
Additional support for young adults or people moving between different services and stages of support.

Do I have to stop completely to get support?
No. We’ll support you whether you want to cut down, stop, or just use more safely. We’ll meet you where you’re at, without judgement.
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Everything you tell us stays private, unless we’re worried about your immediate safety or someone else’s.
Can I get support for someone I care about?
Yes. We can offer advice, guidance, and services for family members and friends too.
Does it cost anything to use Inspire?
No. All of our services are completely free.
How quickly can I get help?
Once you reach out, we’ll contact you as soon as possible. Waiting times can vary, but we’ll always try to get you the right help, in the right way, at the right time.
What if I’ve tried before and it didn’t work?
That’s okay. Many people need more than one go. We’ll support you to try again — at your pace, with no pressure.
